CASE PRESENTATION Webmajority of the patients had severe ascites, i.e. 48 (53.3%), followed by moderate and mild ascites. The major cause of ascites was found to be nephrogenic, i.e. 70 (77.8%) patients, followed by cardiac failure, hypothyroidism, cirrhosis of the liver, abdominal tuberculosis, and peritoneal carcinomatosis.
