WebChapter History. The IL-Gamma chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded at Monmouth College on May 22, 1948. We were the 84th SigEp chapter to be chartered, and the third one in Illinois. Awards. To date, our chapter has been awarded the 5th highest number of Buchanan Cups among all SigEp chapters.

Our Buchanan Cup is dedicated to Hunter Powell ’98, who spearheaded our chapter’s Buchanan Cup efforts in 1997.
